About the Event

Event History / Event Committee

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the 2023 Tribute Dinner on March 23, 2023. Here’s all the information you need if you are attending.

Do I need a ticket?: No, we don’t have actual tickets. If you or your company have registered your attendance, we’ll have the information at the event — so check in at Registration and we’ll give you your Table Number.

What to wear: This is a semi-formal event so for men, a suit or a blazer works. An elegant pant suit or little black dress for women, will do the trick. Since our honouree is an avid explorer, Travel is the theme for the 2023 Tribute Dinner. As such, we encourage you to wear attire or accessories that represents your favourite destination. For example, you can wear a kilt or a tartan scarf because you love Scotland; or a bolo tie because the American Southwest is your fave.

When to arrive: The festivities get under way starting at 6 PM. We will have entertainment during the cocktail hour and you can mingle with friends and also review the many silent auction items we will have on display.

When will we be seated? Guests will be seated at 6:45 PM.

What time does dinner start? Grace will be spoken at 7 PM, followed by the singing of O Canada. The first course will follow directly after.

Will there be entertainment? Little Peter and the Elegants will have you up and dancing during the evening.

Is there a Silent Auction or Live Auction?: We’ll have both for you to bid on. Check back here for more information closer to the event.

If you’d still like to be a sponsor of the 2023 Tribute Dinner or you want to purchase a Table or tickets, contact Karen Wilson directly at karenwi@clmiss.ca.

About Our Entertainers

Little Peter and the Elegants

The band began in 1973 when eight students at Port Credit Secondary School got together to play 50s & 60s rock ‘n’ roll music. It was a time of nostalgia with the movie American Graffiti in theatres, the musical Grease on stage and the show Happy Days on television. Even though band members have changed over the years, what has remained the same is how the band covers music from the 50s, 60s & 70s the way you remember hearing the songs on the radio.  The current lineup has been together for over 10 years and likes to focus on the vocal harmonies that were so popular back then. The band travels across Ontario to places such as Picton, Collingwood, Kincardine and Niagara Falls, to name but a few. In 2022 The Mississauga News Readers Choice Awards declared the band “Best Local Musician or Band” and “Best Local Entertainment“. The band is thrilled to be a part of Community Living Mississauga’s Tribute Dinner!

Grenville Pinto

Born in Hamilton, Grenville Pinto (a.k.a. ‘G’) has been playing the violin since the age of seven. His musical abilities have been nurtured from a young age with continuous recitals and performances that have resulted in his love for the stage and entertaining others.

He comes from a musical family, with his mother playing and teaching piano, his father who sings, and two sisters who are professional pianists and accompany Grenville regularly. He’s so much more. A complete musician. A showman. An entertainer. An artist. Whatever the genre, no matter the style (from classical to hard rock, Bollywood to pop), G’s singular talents bring favorite songs to life in vibrant, unexpected, brand new ways.
